9mm Ammo

9mm ammo has been a runaway favorite among concealed carriers and police agencies. In fact, 9x19 is one of the older handgun cartridges on the market with a history dating all the way back to the early 1900's. The Luger round was used extensively by the Germans in the P08 and P38 handguns. In the U.S., the cartridge can be considered something of a sleeper hit in its early years, only achieving major popularity in the 1980's with the rise of CCW and semiautomatic pistols.

The 9mm Luger ammo you'll find for sale here at Widener's typically features 115, 124, or 147 grain bullets. Heavier bullets offer strong penetration but lower muzzle velocities, with the 147 grain version falling into the subsonic range. 115 or 124 grain jacketed hollow points from Speer, Federal, Winchester, and many other manufacturers produce a muzzle velocity of around 1,100 feet per second and produce relatively mild recoil while still delivering excellent terminal performance. If you like to shoot centerfire ammo in high volumes, the low cost and low recoil of the 9mm makes it your best bet! Generally, you can expect rounds loaded with full metal jacket bullets to be cheaper than the hollow point defensive counterparts with your best buy coming in bulk.

There have been many handguns chambered for the 9mm Luger, but the most popular for concealed carry today are typically compact pistols like the SIG P938, Glock 43, S&W M&P Shield, Springfield XDs, Ruger LC9, and Kahr CW9. Be sure to take a look at our in-stock 9mm ammo below.

There's never such thing as having too much of the world's most popular centerfire pistol caliber. Get your share of the loot at a low price with this 1000 round bulk pack of 9x19mm Luger ammo from Tula Cartridge Works. TulAmmo is sourced from Russia's Tula plant, the largest ammunition manufacturer in that country. With experience dating back to 1880, the Tula plant is trusted for its experience in mass production of military rounds as well as tailor-made export ammo. The latest line of rounds use non-corrosive Berdan primers and steel casings coated with a layer of polymer which boasts increased reliability and low fouling over the older lacquer-coated casings.

These rounds use 115 grain full metal jacket bullets to match the lightest and most popular 9mm Parabellum plinking cartridges. This results in easily managed recoil with a muzzle velocity of 1,345 feet per second. The projectiles have a jacket of either copper or bi-metal; bi-metal is a mix of steel and copper which may not be accepted at some indoor ranges due to its hardness and ability to spark on steel backstops.

    Accurate for the price.

Shoots well. A little hard to load into the mag, probably because of the case finish. Sometimes the slide doesn't close on the last round. It's an ok practice round for the price.

Can't reload my range ammo for this price. I save my component's for other nine's. A little dirty but not a big deal as I will clean the gun anyway.!!

    Great for plinking

This is the second batch I've purchased from Wideners. Both times the price was great and the shipping was quick. I have had zero problems with feeding in either my M&P Shield or XD. Not the most accurate but good enough for a day at the range. Not that dirty either.

    As cheap as reloading

Plink away, folks. Great plinking ammo, competitive with loading your own. And the spent cases can be picked up with a magnet.

In ammo speak, “bimetal” refers to a jacket or case that is predominantly made out of steel but which also has a thin, copper-washed exterior. Russian ammunition typically has bimetal jacketed bullets, whereas bimetal cases are somewhat rare. This 9mm ammunition by Wolf has both!

This round’s bullet tips the scale at 115 grains – just light enough to ensure it receives a supersonic muzzle velocity out of a pistol’s barrel. A bimetal jacketed bullet still has a lead core, still feeds smoothly, and still offers consistent ballistic performance in comparison to an American-made copper-jacketed bullet. It’s just going to attract a magnet, which is why you won’t be able to fire this ammo at all ranges. It’s best to check and see what your preferred ranges’ magnetic ammo policies are before investing in a case of Wolf 9mm.

Wolf isn’t trying to pull a fast one on their customers by coating their steel cases with copper wash. That added layer does protect steel against corrosion, and it also helps the cases generate less metal-on-metal friction as they cycle through a firearm. But steel cases, copper-washed or not, are essentially useless as far as handloaders are concerned. Wolf’s Berdan primers are non-corrosive, however, so while you won’t be reloading this ammo you won’t have to worry about rust, either!

The wolf: It’s nature’s perfect killing machine. With its clawed toes, rows of jagged sharp teeth, venomous stinging tail, and leathery wings, few animals of the forest can stand up to a wolf. It is a good thing we have never seen a wolf in person, or even a photo of one. It’s just too horrifying to imagine.

We’d much rather see a box of Wolf ammunition, because whenever we do it means we’re going to save money instead of being devoured whole. This 9mm cartridge comes from Russia, where economical steel cased ammo is all the range. Without brass to jack up its price tag, anyone can afford to pepper targets with all day with a Wolf round. Steel’s tendency to interrupt a semi-automatic’s cycle is addressed very effectively courtesy of Wolf’s PolyFormance, a polymer coating which greatly reduces how much friction steel can generate.

This cartridge’s 115 grain bullet is also economical, although you’ll find it isn’t so at the expense of being able to feed properly, preserve the barrel from rapid leading, or whiz downrange accurately.

Fiocchi ammunition is always a safe bet for your shooting needs. This range load is a great replacement for expensive hollow points when you're slaying paper targets. It fires a light 115 grain full metal jacket (FMJ) bullet at a muzzle velocity of 1,200 feet per second, slightly faster than other standard pressure loads; the FMJ projectiles use brass jackets rather than copper in order to maintain stability with the increased velocity and are proven to produce accuracy worthy of competitive use.

Most Fiocchi ammunition sold in the US is loaded in Ozark, Missouri with the balance being imported from Lecco, Italy. Fiocchi has been in business since the 19th century and has taken off in a big way in the US in the last several years due to the reasonable price and impressive quality of its ammo.

These cartridges use non-corrosive Boxer primers and reloadable brass cases. Each case contains 1,000 rounds--perfect for bulk savings.

Did you know that aluminum was once more precious than gold? Times have certainly changed for the better, because now aluminum is so inexpensive that it can be used to make single-use 9mm shell cases!

Blazer’s 9mm training cartridges are a great cost-effective alternative to brass-cased loads. And because aluminum is only one third as dense as brass, you’ll even find this case of ammo a little bit lighter than usual!

These dependable range loads are equipped with nonmagnetic 115 grain FMJ projectiles. These bullets cannot expand to deliver the terminal ballistics you would want for personal protection, but their ability to feed smoothly, mitigate barrel fouling and hug a flat trajectory suits them perfectly for punching paper.

Blazer loads these rounds with non-corrosive Berdan primers instead of traditional Boxers. They lower production costs by a little bit, and also serve as an effective reminder never to reload aluminum cases.

Whether they ordered too much of it, had it lying around for too long, or just needed space to put the new pinball machine, it’s not uncommon for the military and law enforcement agencies to get rid of some of their ammunition by selling it as surplus. It’s also altogether possible that Remington just got a little overambitious and overestimated just how many of these high quality 9mm rounds the public sector was game for buying. However surplus ammo enters the market, savvy shooters know that it’s nearly always a great deal -- we say “nearly” because you should be a little suspicious of the viability of any Ottoman Empire Army surplus you see on the market.

This 9mm round features a 115 grain projectile, a very popular bullet weight for self-defense and one that delivers a comfortable amount of recoil. The bullet’s full metal jacket staves off rapid bore fouling, and further enables smoother feeding in a semi-automatic weapon. This round’s primer is non-corrosive, which along with its factory fresh brass casing renders the matter of how long it has been lying around in storage a moot one.

John Moses Browning may not have invented the 9mm cartridge (that honor belongs to a German, despite the 9mm being America’s favorite pistol round), but the company which bears his name certainly knows how to load fine 9mm ammo all the same. This case of cartridges will make the perfect companion during any day at the shooting range!

Browning loads this ammo according to popular specifications. The 115 grain bullet is beloved for its mix of low recoil and flat trajectory, and it’s the perfect choice if you also prefer the lighter bullet weight for self-defense applications. The bullet itself is a full metal jacket: lead core, copper alloy jacket, no steel or any other magnetic metals. The round nose profile feeds into a semi-auto’s chamber smooth as silk, and the hard exterior helps to prevent the bullet from deforming or fouling a firearm’s barrel with too much metal residue.

Browning’s uniform brass cases are a nice bonus for any handloader, and their primers and propellant charges ensure both reliable ignition and constant chamber pressures. Stock up now – you never want to be without good range ammo!

Blazer ammunition is made by CCI, a company that was founded in Idaho in 1950 and would eventually go on to revolutionize primer technology. Today they stand as one of America’s greatest rimfire ammo manufacturers, but their centerfire training ammo also offers excellent value.

Blazer’s 9mm ball ammo offers the reliable performance which makes any time you spend at the range worthwhile. This round’s 115 grain bullet serves up recoil, point of aim and ballistic performance on par with analogously loaded personal protection cartridges, but it makes training far more affordable thanks to the cost-effective design of the good old full metal jacket.

An FMJ can’t expand and as such isn’t an ideal pick for self-defense. But its solid copper alloy exterior does smooth out feeding, as does its rounded nose profile, and its lack of any magnetic steel makes it fully compliant with discerning indoor ranges’ ammo policies. Blazer’s brass-cased ammo is primed with non-corrosive Boxers, making it at once dependable, clean-shooting and reloadable.

This bullet is optimized for shooting steel targets for two primary reasons: Its jacket prevents potentially hazardous splash-back, and it transfers energy exceptionally courtesy of its flat nose profile. What’s more, the low recoil supplied by this round equates to far more comfortable long-term shooting, letting you focus better on your aim.

This cartridge also features a lead-free Catalyst primer that provides reliable and consistent ignition, clean burning propellant that even further reduces residue accumulation, and a reloadable brass casing. Winchester "white box" ammo is an easy choice for target shooting due to its blend of high accuracy, reliable performance, and reasonable price point. These 9mm Luger cartridges come in boxes of 50 and fire a 115 grain full metal jacket bullet at a muzzle velocity of 1,190 feet per second.

While this is standard pressure ammo, it is a bit hotter than the typical target load. This makes it a good choice for CCW holders to train with, as the increased recoil better simulates the performance of real self-defense ammunition without the cost of the expensive hollow point bullet.

Oxford, Mississippi has been home to Winchester ammo production since 2011. Winchester itself has been around since the mid 19th century and currently operates with a singular focus on producing quality ammo--their firearms are license-produced by FN.

This 9mm round from Winchester’s Service Grade line of ammunition features a 115 grain projectile. That bullet weight’s utility for self-defense is strongly contested by experts in the field, and is accordingly favored by prestigious law enforcement agencies including the United States Secret Service and the Federal Air Marshals. If you also prefer a 115 grain bullet for self-defense, then training with this cost-effective and reliable ammunition is a fine way to keep your skills sharp.

This round’s bullet’s full metal jacket will prevent your weapon’s bore from quickly fouling with lead residue, preserving its accuracy and lessening the need for very frequent cleanings at the range. (Range time is better spent perforating sheets of paper than it is assembling cleaning rods.) This cartridge’s factory fresh and Boxer primed brass casing is the ideal stuff of handloading as well, so it’ll keep you as busy at home as it will during target practice.

This bumps recoil up a little bit and provides a more realistic training experience that simulates full power carry ammunition.

This is not +P ammo, so it can be used in subcompact or older firearms not rated for high pressure cartridges. It uses non-corrosive Boxer primers and reloadable brass cases.

This affordable 9mm Luger range ammunition from Sellier & Bellot delivers high-quality trigger time on the range that will help you hone your skills for competitive or defensive encounters.

Each round in this box of 50 fires a medium weight 124-grain full metal jacket bullet at 1,181 feet per second. This is a full power but standard pressure load that produces a realistic level of recoil and excellent accuracy. Standard pressure loads, while not as powerful as +P ones, are more controllable when firing quickly and can be used in subcompact carry handguns or older ones not rated for high-pressure rounds.

Sellier & Bellot is a Czech manufacturer that has been in business for almost two centuries. S&B ammo is well regarded for its reliable ignition and reasonable cost.

The 9mm Parabellum (also known as the 9x19mm NATO and 9mm Luger) was introduced in 1902 but gained most of its popularity in the US in the late 20th and early 21st century with the rise of various semi-automatic handguns and concealed carry laws. It is widely used for both target shooting and self-defense.

While this 9mm Luger ammunition can serve well as a range load for any handgun chambered in this caliber, it is particularly well-suited to suppressed firearms.

With a subsonic muzzle velocity of 975 feet per second, this ammo is powerful enough to cycle semi-automatic firearms while avoiding the sound barrier and allowing the suppressor to provide maximum noise dampening. These cartridges fire heavy 147 grain full metal jacket bullets.

Fiocchi ammo is made in both the USA and Italy using non-corrosive Boxer primers and reloadable brass cases.

This is a great choice for 9mm personal defense ammo to add in to your stash. Federal's Hi-Shok is an older classic design that feeds well in all ages of pistol and has features which form the basis of most modern jacketed hollow-point (JHP) designs. These 115 grain Hi-Shok bullets match the weight of the most common practice rounds for the caliber so that your plinking sessions share consistent recoil and flight characteristic with this premium defense ammo. The projectiles have a narrow cavity at the tip with segments in the copper jacket leading up to it which assist in expansion even when fired at low velocities out of short-barreled carry pistols. This expansion nearly doubles the diameter of the round after impact and creates a wide wound channel for faster incapacitation which is desired for threatening situations.

These 9x19mm cartridges are assembled using non-corrosive Boxer primers and reloadable brass casings. The casings are crimped firmly to the bullets' toothed cannelure which helps to prevent setback and dud rounds after repeat chambering while also maintaining consistent bullet seat and overall accuracy. Federal Premium is a well-respected name in American ammo production and offers quality products that are highly sought out by hunters, competitive shooters, law enforcement agencies, and private citizens alike.

Blazer Brass is a leading name in ammunition and operates under the ATK/VISTA family of brands (along with Federal, CCI, etc.). Blazer is known as a top choice for target shooting and training ammo, and they have a large selection of options for many different handguns and rifles.

Few rounds can match the speed and precision of the 9mm handgun cartridge. Although other rounds have more power, the 9mm is one of the fastest and most accurate handgun bullets available, making it a popular choice among the target-shooting community. If you are heading to the range, take a few of these 50-count boxes to get the precision and accuracy you need.

This 9mm cartridge from Federal’s Syntech line of ammunition features a 150 grain projectile with the exclusive total synthetic jacket. Because its jacket is made of high tech polymer rather than traditional copper, this bullet completely does away with metal-on-metal contact as it passes through your pistol, eliminating copper and lead fouling to keep your bore clean and your barrel lasting longer. This bullet is perfect for shooting steel targets, as its jacket drastically reduces the possibility of hazardous splash-back while its flat nose profile transfers superior energy upon impact.

This round is optimized for action shooting sports, and because it produces less felt recoil when fired it is ideal for lengthy training sessions. The Union Metallic Cartridge Company is one of the United States’ oldest ammunition manufacturers, and bring over 15 decades of experience to the table when they make their high quality ammo. By focusing on only creating a select few products according to Americans’ most favored specifications, they’re able to make well-crafted cartridges without having to justify asking for a premium price in return.

These 600 9mm rounds will give you ample opportunity to train, and want nothing for their utility in a self-defense scenario either. Their 115 grain hollow point projectiles will mushroom outward to far greater than their original diameters as they penetrate soft targets, reducing the risk of overpenetration while quickly debilitating a threat. These bullets’ jackets are hard enough to assure reliable penetration through a variety of common media, but are soft enough to ensure they control expansion to make it as effective as can be. A UMC round further features a non-corrosive Kleanbore primer, a great investment in your pistol’s longevity.

The Union Metallic Cartridge Company was a regular juggernaut in its day -- their shot tower was the largest building in Connecticut for a number of years, and they were the first company on earth to produce centerfire ammunition. They merged with Remington in 1912, and today use their substantial experience to create a select few products that meet American shooters’ most popular specifications. In this fashion UMC provides cost-effective yet nonetheless high quality ammunition to the public.

This 9mm round features a 115 grain projectile, by and large considered the best weight for self-defense for its caliber. The bullet’s jacket ensures that it can penetrate targets shielded by thick fabric, wherein it controls expansion in order to create a deep, wide, and thoroughly debilitating wound channel. This round’s Kleanbore primer will do a lot to keep your pistol’s action and bore unmolested by corrosive residues, a great benefit to their longevity.

Hi-Shok rounds from Federal are a classic choice for 9mm defense which will function in a wide range of firearms. Before Federal Hydrashoks and HSTs were common names in shooting circles, Hi-Shok pioneered features that are now common in all brands of high quality jacketed hollow-point (JHP) ammunition. JHP rounds are guarded in the rear to reduce lead exposure while their wide head cavities cause expansion after impact in order to create a wider wound cavity and contribute to faster incapacitation in personal defense situations. Hi-Shok JHPs are further enhanced by a pre-segmented jacket which helps the bullet to expand reliably even after low velocity contact out of short barreled pistols.

Hi-Shok cartridges also feature a positive case crimp to the toothed cannelure of the projectile. This prevents bullet setback during repeated chambering which could cause a failure-to-fire or an even more catastrophic failure. The projectiles weigh in at 115 grain and match the recoil impulse and flight characteristics of the most popular bullet profile in the 9x19mm Luger caliber. Hi-Shok rounds were designed to function reliably in pistols that may not feed with typical wide mouth hollow-points. The cartridges are assembled using reloadable brass casings and non-corrosive Boxer primers.

Ammo Inc. has a mission: to load ammunition that performs like high-end handloads, and to sell it for very competitive prices. The American manufacturer pulls this off while meeting or exceeding all SAAMI specifications, and every component and cartridge they produce comes from Arizona or Wisconsin. (A hot state, and a cold state – good pairing.)

This round’s 115 grain jacketed hollow point bullet provides the fine accuracy and low recoil you want working on your side while you’re fighting an assailant. The JHP’s concentric copper jacket and uniform lead core keep it balanced in flight. Its notched nose cavity expands quickly to deal a devastating blow to any soft tissue that overlaps with its terminal trajectory. At close range you’re certain to meet or exceed the 300 ft lbs minimum energy delivery recommended for personal protection!

Ammo Inc. draws and cuts their brass cases with precision, and utilizes multiple quality control checks to ensure these rounds are equipped with consistent non-corrosive Boxer primers and clean-burning propellant. It’s all you need to ready your pistol for personal protection.

Hydra-Shok cartridges are a classic design from Federal have a name recognized by virtually every shooter in the United States. These 9mm Luger rounds are constructed using high quality components including clean-igniting Boxer primers and reloadable brass casings.

Additionally, the casings are nickel-coated which protects the ammo from sweat and corrosion, reduces friction for seamless feeding and ejection, and marks the rounds for carry and defense use. This particular load uses a standard pressure powder charge to push a 124 grain jacketed hollow-point projectile.

124 grains is a common weight for 9x19mm in NATO configurations and offers a balance between manageable recoil, relatively flat trajectory, proven penetration, and effective terminal ballistics.

The Hydra-Shok JHP bullet uses a deep hollow cavity with a lead post in the center and a narrow opening with shallow notches on its surrounding jacket. Upon impact, the projectile will expand at its front while the post augments the rate of entry in order to deliver damage to the appropriate vital zones.

Widener's also carries these Federal rounds in bulk as well as a plethora of practice rounds in the same weight.

Countless gun owners and law enforcement officers trust Speer Gold Dots for their self-defense needs. Gold Dot cartridges feature bullets with a molecularly bonded design and caliber-optimized expansion profiles. They are one of the top choices for police departments in the US.

Each cartridge in this box of 50 fires a medium weight 124 grain hollow point bullet at 1,220 feet per second. This is a +P load and should be used only in firearms rated for the increased pressures. In a self-defense situation, the added velocity gained by +P ammo provides stronger expansion at the cost of increased recoil and muzzle blast. Larger firearms will generally handle these downsides better than compact ones.

Speer Gold Dots are made in Lewiston, Idaho, where Speer has been headquartered for over 50 years. They use non-corrosive Boxer primers and reloadable brass cases with nickel plating for enhanced durability.

We’re sure you’re a splendid and kind person, but a reasonable one at that. You know there are times when you must let loose the dogs of war. This 9mm +P ammo by Underwood of Illinois is perfect for them.

This cartridge is fitted with the 124 grain XTP by Hornady. It is a jacketed hollow point, engineered to feed, penetrate, and expand with the uttermost reliability. An XTP’s jacket reveals no lead around its nose cavity, helping to prevent some snag from interrupting rapid fire. This extension of jacket further prevents the XTP’s nose cavity from malfunctioning during impact.

The XTP’s brilliantly concentric jacket and swaged lead core both contribute to its superior in-flight stability, promoting the accuracy you deserve when your life is in danger. Its jacket is also precisely serrated, which alongside the varying thicknesses throughout its entire length supports extremely reliable terminal expansion.

Underwood makes a self-defense round perform even better with the addition of two premium components. Their propellant is treated to reduce muzzle flash, which is crucial if you’ll ever need to fire when it’s dark out and wouldn’t want bright light to blind you. Their case is nickel-plated, guarding the round against corrosion as well as lessening friction for more assured functionality in a semi-automatic. We find it’s also easier to see a round’s nickel-plated case in the chamber!

This is a +P round, loaded to a higher than normal pressure so its bullet can rip out of the muzzle at a greater velocity. This flattens its trajectory and increases the energy it can transfer throughout penetration. Please make certain your firearm is designed to safely fire 9mm +P ammo – or ask us if you need assistance.

Federal "Hi-Shok Two" (HST) rounds are considered to be one of the best performing jacketed hollow point (JHP) offerings and represent the pinnacle of 9mm Luger defensive cartridge design in this decade. The HST bullet design features a very large hollow cavity with pre-segmented jacket which opens up to an average of double its diameter on impact; this makes for amazing threat-stopping terminal ballistics.

The NATO-standard 124 grain projectile weight backed by a standard pressure charge makes shooting very controllable without sacrificing the necessary penetration for personal defense. In addition, HST cartridges also feature nickle-plated brass casings for the smoothest feeding and ejection as well as powder with a low flash signature which enables quicker follow-up shots.

Federal Premium ammunition is American made and caters to the needs of hunters, law enforcement personnel, and competitive shooting athletes alike. Widener's also carries a wide range of 9x19mm practice ammo to accompany your carry load selection.

    Great ammo- Slightly less recoil

Great staff at Wideners! On the ammunition, bought the +P version for my Shield. That is my primary carry weapon of choice. The wife carries a LC9s. While it is +P capable the +p offers up a little more expansion while the standard pressure here offers a bit more penetration with slightly better controlability for follow ups for her if needed. Arthritis is a drag! Either way this HST ammunition is what we both use to defend our lives with confidence.
    Thanks Wideners!

    Excellent round

I’ve used quite a lot of Federal HST ammunition in various calibers. The 9mm 147 gr is in just about all my Defensive 9mm pistols because it is a great combination of an effective, subsonic defense round. I have more than one suppressor and more than one suppressor supporting pistol. It feeds and functions flawlessly in all of them.

A bullet doesn’t need to expand in order to produce a much wider wound channel than its original diameter alone could account for. This 9mm ammunition by Underwood proves it!

This round features the 90 grain Xtreme Defender projectile. It is very light because it is lead-free, and its monolithic copper design at once makes it clean-shooting, balanced and extremely resilient. The Xtreme Defender punches through barriers easily, so it can reliably reach threats that are shielded by thick clothing, wallboard or even auto glass.

The Xtreme Defender lacks a nose cavity. Its nose profile makes it easier for a semi-automatic to feed without jamming, and it is also immune to becoming plugged up with debris. The monolithic bullet has multiple radial flutes machined around its tip. These force any fluid which the bullet comes into contact with to rapidly jet outward, creating a wide and instantaneous wound cavity that will quickly neutralize even the most determined threat. The Xtreme Defender consistently penetrates to depths as great as 18”, thus assuring a clean break to the vitals.

Underwood loads this 9mm ammo with nickel-plated brass cases for superior corrosion resistance and more reliable cycling through a semi-auto. They also load low-flash propellant that will preserve your night vision – very helpful in case you ever have to defend yourself in the dark.

The Xtreme Defender bullet is specially designed for self-defense applications – although it does not expand inside soft tissue. Instead of a hollow point nose cavity the bullet features multiple flutes in its shank. These engage soft tissue and jet them outward to create a cavernous wound cavity.

The 90 grain bullet is made out of solid copper. It can’t deposit lead residue inside a semi-auto’s barrel, its nose profile promotes more reliable feeding, and it’s immune to becoming clogged up with debris that could have impacted a hollow point bullet’s terminal performance. So resilient a bullet penetrates soft tissue as deeply as 18” – which falls right within the FBI’s test protocol guidelines.

Underwood makes their Xtreme Defender round even more reliable by loading it with a nickel-plated brass case. This slick plating generates very little friction as the round feeds and extracts, which helps to prevent jamming. Nickel is furthermore corrosion resistant, and its sheen makes the round easier to see in the chamber under poor lighting.

9mm +P ammunition is loaded to a higher pressure than regular 9mm. That gives this round a flatter trajectory, as well as more energy to exert throughout impact and subsequent penetration. Modern 9mm handguns can safely absorb an overpressure round’s greater energy, but please check if your firearm is rated for +P before firing this ammo in it.

Your everyday carry needs to have reliable, knock-down power if it’s going to do you any good when life attacks. That’s why Federal offers this round from their Personal Defense line of ammunition with a 147 grain HST projectile. The HST’s ability to deliver catastrophic terminal performance won’t be hindered by common barriers -- its special nose cavity is designed to prevent itself from becoming clogged up. This bullet expands to extend six sharp petals as it tunnels through its target, and it penetrates to the ideal depth for neutralizing a human-sized target while retaining nearly 100 percent of its weight.

This round’s factory fresh casing is made of brass, and thus perfect for handloading. The casing’s nickel plating poses multiple benefits to its performance: It promotes smooth feeding in a semi-automatic weapon, resists corrosion when confronted with moisture, and makes an on the fly chamber check easier to perform in the dark.
