The U.S. Army originally developed the .308 Winchester to take the place of their 30-06. Since then, .308 Win has become one of the most popular cartridges in the world. Indeed, that is the typical fate for any round used by our Army – it’s not only a hefty endorsement for it to receive, but tons of people are going to become very familiar with it as the result.
The .308 bullet’s exceptional accuracy, ability to keep a barrel in good condition for a very long time, and compatibility with a great variety of commercial propellants have made it extremely popular with handloaders. As such you’ll find no lack of .308 bullets for reloading to choose from. If you’d like to make something that approximates the performance of the Army’s M852 match competition round, you’ll be happy to find that .30 caliber 168 grain HPBT bullets are in healthy supply.
If you’re after varmints, a lightweight 110 grain bullet ought to serve up the flat trajectory you need to pick off small and skittish critters. Bullets weighing 150, 165, and 170 grains are most often favored for hunting medium-sized game including whitetail, although heavyweight 180 and 190 grain bullets are not unheard of. Just keep your chamber pressure under SAAMI’s max 62,000 psi and you should have things under control!

São Paulo, Brazil – Home of Magtech, which puts their label on over one billion rounds of ammunition every single year. While the NATO supplier certainly produces their fair share of ammo, they’re also here to help you load your own ammo. Here are the component bullets you need to make 7.62x51, 308 Win and a wide range of other .30 caliber cartridges!
This is the same bullet Magtech would use to make their own 7.62x51 M80 ammo, which is to say it is a 147 grain full metal jacket. Most importantly, Magtech does not include steel or any other ferrous metals while fabricating FMJs; as such this bullet cannot attract a magnet. The bullet’s mid-body cannelure facilitates handloading by establishing a tight foothold in the case mouth, and its concentric gilding metal jacket and evenly distributed lead core both provide the good rotational stability you need to pick off distant targets. -

Seem good so far.

I haven't done any real ballistics tests of these yet but the bullet weights are all extremely close and no deformation of any bullets in packaging or shipping, tips all in good shape.

Awesome Suppressed!

Loaded for 300BO and 308, with as much Trail Boss the cartridge would hold. Super quiet, good groups, explosive-but barely mark steel. Fun at supersonic as well! Well within minute of critter.
