Great blackout bullet
Was hesitant at first. Bought them anyway. No feeding issues. Shot a 1" group at 50 yards with a $30, 3 moa red dot. Waiting for a real scope. Probably will end up sub moa at 100. These shot better than the 135gr seirra match kings, that shot one hole out of my .308 tikka at 100 yards. This is my new hunting round. 16 inch blackout barrel. Nothing special about the gun, except $190, sub moa barrel.

3030 ftx bullets
I loaded them with 35 grains of lever lution , they gained a lot more fps.Shot 5 inches higher than my old load of 28 .5 grs. of Acc. 2460 with a 170 gr speer hot core. very accurate out of a marlin micro grove . It was zeroed in at 50 yds. shot it at 100 and 200 meters, with vary impressive results. It basically turned the 3030 into a 300 savage.

160 gr. FTX bullets for 30-30 lever action rifles
I had purchased these a few months back in hopes they would improve the preformance of my marlin 30-30 after reading some reviews. I first loaded some test rounds in several different charge weights with Varget powder and bench fired at 100 yards..The results was terrible shot groups. I then purchased a pound of Hodgdon Leverevolution powder since it was designed for the FTX bullets and lever action rifles. I loaded some FTX bullets in the min. and max. powder charge with two more test loads in between those loads. The best 100 yard shot group was 3 in. with the max. charge weight. The other three test loads were in the 6in. and 7 in. shot group range. All the shot groups were very disappointing. I had also loaded some test rounds with Rem. 170 gr. soft point bullets made for 30-30s using the Leverevoltion powder. I loaded 5 rounds with the max. charge weight and those were 2 in. shot groups. I had loaded five more rounds with one grain less of the powder. Those grouped around 3 inches. The leverevoltion powder does well with conventional round nose bullets in lever action from my tests and I plan on ordering a box of Sierra 30-30 bullets in the 170 and 150 gr. weights to further test with this powder. Altough the 160 gr. FTX bullets might work well in some lever actions they were a disappointment for me.After asking about them on a reloading forum I found out it wasn't just my Marlin 30-30 that didn't do well with them. As far as using them in my .308 handloads the crimping groove sits too high because they were made for the shorter 30-30 shell. These bullets were made for the 30-30 not the normal 30 cal. rifle. I also read where the copper jacket was designed for 30-30 bullet velocities so there is a chance they could fail with the higher .308 velocities. If you own a lever action 30-30 and want to try some I would suggest only buying one box until you know how well they will perform.

Few things feel so satisfying as hunting with your own handload -- that your shot reflects not only your skill with a rifle but also your savvy at a reloading bench makes bagging a trophy that much more rewarding. Give your handload the precision performance it needs to demonstrate your all-around proficiency with Hornady’s ELD-X projectile!
This .308” diameter bullet boasts an exceptionally high ballistic coefficient. Its Heat Shield tip will keep its meplat keen and evenly shaped no matter the velocity it achieves, as the polymer it is made from is immune to the effects of aerodynamic heating. Its accuracy is additionally bolstered by its low drag secant ogive profile, tapered base, and nearly perfectly concentric AMP jacket. The ELD-X’s flat trajectory will enable you to tag a distant buck like it’s standing right next to you.
The ELD-X is an all-distance hunting solution. At low velocity impact its tip reliably initiates wide expansion that is made all the more devastating with up to 90 percent weight retention. Even at closer distances the bullet’s InterLock ring ensures its jacket and core stay together to provide some mushrooming accompanied by the retention of as little as half of its weight. It’s perfect for hunting when you can’t reliably predict how your quarry is going to behave, which is practically always.

Want to load one of the most technologically advanced soft point projectiles that the market has to offer? Then you couldn’t do much better than this 150 grain .308” diameter Fusion bullet by Federal! True to its name, this bullet’s copper jacket has been electrochemically fused one molecule at a time to its pressure formed lead core. As the result core/jacket separation during penetration becomes an essentially moot issue, so the Fusion retains its weight in order to penetrate very deeply.
The Fusion’s evenly layered jacket works hand in hand with its boat tail to give the bullet exceptional accuracy. After following a flat trajectory on its course to its target, the Fusion’s soft point will initiate massive expansion that’s guided by the skives in its tip, making its wound channel wide in addition to deep. It’s a bullet wholly deserving of your science, and one which you’ll want to welcome back to your reloading bench time and time again!

Hornady’s A-TIP Match projectile represents the culmination of decades of research and testing by one of America’s preeminent ammunition experts. Your handloads deserve no less than so superlative a tack driver!
This 250 grain bullet has an exceptionally long aluminum tip which improves its center of gravity and its rotational stability, and further markedly reduces the amount of drag it can generate in flight. This bullet’s Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket is concentric on a microscopic level, which even more greatly enhances its stability. Each A-TIP Match’s ogive, boat tail base angulature, and bearing surface is optimized specifically for its caliber. So great is its ballistic coefficient that it forgives deviations in factors such as twist rate and muzzle velocity.
In an effort to standardize these bullets as greatly as possible, Hornady packages them sequentially in the order that they leave the press. They have been handled as little as possible, and indeed have not even been bulk washed. Hornady recommends their A-TIP™ seating stem to best seat these accurate bullets in their casings.

Any hobby done well deserves the best equipment. If you tie flies you want pristine feathers, if you train dogs you want smart dogs, and if you handload you want Hornady bullets. This .308” diameter 230 grain bullet is going to let you make surgically accurate 308 Win or 300 AAC Blackout cartridges, because it is an A-TIP Match.
The A-TIP Match features a long aluminum tip, which at once optimizes its center of gravity while enhancing its stability in flight. The low drag it incurs makes it perfect for grouping shots tighter than a duck’s backside. The A-TIP Match’s ballistically efficient ogive and flawless boat tail complement its tip exceptionally well!
Ever the sticklers for consistency, the pros at Hornady package these bullets as they’re produced sequentially, so as to minimize any minute differences from one another that they might have. These bullets have been handled as little as possible prior to their packaging, to an extent that they aren’t even washed after they’re finished. You use the included polishing bag to get them ready for their new homes in brass casings.
