Making your own ammo for this upcoming deer season? Then you can’t go wrong with Federal’s tried and true Fusion soft point bullet. This .264” diameter 140 grain projectile is comprised of a pressure formed core that has been electrochemically bonded to its copper jacket. As the Fusion’s exposed core causes reliable expansion within game courtesy of its skived tip, its fused jacket will stay tightly tethered to it to promote the great weight retention that deep, debilitating penetration simply can’t do without.
The Fusion boasts accuracy to match its staggering terminal performance. It does this not only because of its jacket, which has been formed one single molecule at a time for exceptional concentricity, but also its expertly angled boat tail which boosts its ballistic coefficient for a flat trajectory, greater downrange velocity, and superior resistance to the straying influences of vertical and cross winds. The Fusion’s tapered base further makes it easier to seat in its casing!

Consistent and accurate
I have run a little over 2000 of these through my 6.5 Grendel. The weight is pretty consistent within +/- .1 grains, with the majority falling directly on 123 grains. My barrel (Wilson Arms 20", 1/8 twist) likes these bullets the best and am able to keep under 1 MOA at 550 yards, as long as the guy behind the trigger is cooperating.

Shot Very well in my 6.5 Creedmoor Savage Stealth. well under 1 moa at 100 yds, on target at 1100 yds

Good Bullet, Good Price
I've had good success with these in my custom 260 Remington Mauser. Even as a mediocre bench shooter, I've had no problem keeping groups under 1" at 100 yards.

Hornady .264 Diameter (6.5mm) Bullets - 140 Grain ELD Match – 100 Count$33.00
Cost Per Bullet 33.0¢ per bullet Bullet Weight 140 Grain Bullet Caliber 260 Remington, 6.5mm, 6.5mm Grendel, 6.5x284 Norma, 6.5x55 Quantity 100 Bullet Type ELD Match Manufacturer Hornady Manufacturer SKU 26331
This .264” diameter 140 grain bullet by Hornady will yield handloads with the precision usually afforded to surgical instruments, because it is an Extremely Low Drag Match. The ELD Match features its manufacturer’s revolutionary Heat Shield tip, a precisely formed spear of polymer which is totally immune to the aerodynamic heating it is subjected to at high velocities. As the result, this bullet’s meplat will always stay sharp and symmetrical so that you can group shots tighter than an investment banker’s lips while he’s on trial for money laundering.
The ELD Match further owes its gnat swatting accuracy to its secant ogive profile which greatly decreases its bearing surface, its virtually perfectly concentric AMP jacket that optimizes its rotational stability in flight, and the tapered base of its boat tail design. Hornady has even gone so far as to measure the ELD Match’s ballistic coefficient via Doppler radar to correct it to standard atmospheric conditions. So flat a trajectory, so much retained velocity downrange, and such superior resistance to wind drift will make your handloads the best ammo wherever you take them!

Cost Per Bullet 34.5¢ per bullet Bullet Weight 147 Grain Bullet Caliber 260 Remington, 6.5mm, 6.5mm Grendel, 6.5x284 Norma, 6.5x55 Quantity 100 Bullet Type ELD Match Manufacturer Hornady Manufacturer SKU 26333
“Ten bullets through one hole” -- that’s the philosophy which over the course of the past seven decades has turned Hornady from a tiny little bullet maker into one of our country’s leading ammunition manufacturers. This 147 grain .264” diameter bullet exemplifies its Nebraskan creator’s credo perfectly, because it is an intensely accurate ELD Match.
The ELD Match’s Heat Shield tip is made of polymer that will not be misshapen by aerodynamic heating -- as the result, no muzzle velocity will spoil its meplat’s symmetry or pointedness. The ELD Match further offers its boat tail design, a tapered base which significantly hikes up its ballistic coefficient for a flat trajectory and improved downrange velocity. Its secant ogive profile lessens its bearing surface, and its jacket’s high concentricity means little could make it spin out of its path. This is the bullet you load when you’re planning to win a competition, or treat a vole to a mustache trim from a few hundred yards out.

The A-TIP Match projectile is the product of years of research and testing by Hornady, and delivers simply astounding accuracy that will let your handloads win big at any competition. This 135 grain .264” diameter bullet features a precision machined aluminum tip, which is longer than a polymer one to both improve center of gravity and inflight stability. The A-TIP Match has an optimized ogive and bearing surface, and its boat tail is precisely angled for its caliber to enhance its ballistic coefficient to an impressive degree. This bullet also features Hornady’s Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket with virtually zero runoff or deviation in its thickness.
Hornady takes every precaution to make an A-TIP Match as accurate as can be. The bullets are sequentially packaged for lot consistency, and handled as little as possible so as to keep them identical to one another. These bullets are packaged with their own polishing bag because they were not bulk washed after production. Hornady advises using their own A-TIP seating stem to seat this bullet as precisely as possible.
