30-06 Ammo

.30-06 Springfield ammunition is a former military cartridge that is now used primarily for hunting because of its excellent long-range performance. It is one of the most powerful non-magnum calibers available, with a kick to match!

.30-06 ammo typically fires a bullet in the 150-180 grain range with a muzzle velocity of 2,700 to 3,000 feet per second. Full metal jacket ammo is widely available for target shooting, with soft and polymer tipped ammo being preferred for hunting. You'll find both bullet types for sale here at Widener's.

Most manufacturers produce .30-06 Springfield ammo, giving shooters a wide variety of choices. Particularly inexpensive target loads can be had from Wolf, while hunting rounds are manufactured by Remington, Nosler, Winchseter, and many others.

Notable firearms chambered in .30-06 include the M1903 Springfield, M1 Garand, Browning Automatic Rifle, and Winchester Model 70.

Don’t jeopardize your classic M1 Garand with just any civilian cartridge! Use one that’s loaded to protect its sensitive workings instead, such as this fine 30-06 cartridge by Sellier & Bellot. An M2 Ball, this cartridge’s muzzle velocity is 2,700 fps -- just 40 fps slower than what the original 1938 design called for. An off the shelf load’s 2,900+ fps muzzle velocity just isn’t going to cut it.

This round’s 150 grain projectile is the same weight as that called for by the original M1906 30-06 cartridge’s design. Rather than a cupronickel jacket, however, its jacket is made of CuZn 10, a fine alloy that won’t rapidly foul an antique’s barrel. Sellier & Bellot’s Boxer primer is dependable and non-corrosive, so you won’t have caustic residues to scour out of your valuable M1’s barrel following a target shooting session. You can even have a go at loading your own M1 ammunition once you’ve emptied out this affordable yet high quality cartridge’s new production brass casing!

These .30-06 Springfield cartridges have been tuned for dependable function in bolt-actions like the Savage Axis XP and semi-automatic hunting rifles like the Browning BAR. Hornady completes the round with a 180-grain InterLock soft point load which falls within the caliber's medium weight range.

The InterLock projectile has a perfectly shaped body for drag resistance, a toothed cannelure for accuracy preservation, and an exposed lead nose that causes massive expansion during entry into a deer or other game animal. This expansion is slowed by the bullet's cannelure as well as by its base-locking ring, allowing the bullet to punch into vital areas before slowing and distributing its energy in order to damage the heart, lungs, and nerves. This design contributes to sure stops so that the game target experiences minimal suffering before providing a meal to hardworking hunters.

Copper and polymer – and no lead. These are the ingredients of the top notch hunting bullet you can only get from Winchester’s Deer Season XP Copper Impact label ammunition!

This deer hunter’s 30-06 sports the American Legend’s 150 grain Copper Extreme Point. Take it hunting where lead bullets are prohibited. Look forward to easy cleanup without lead streaking your barrel. Count on a deep wound channel to make short work of your prey, as a monolithic bullet is far tougher than one with a lead core.

This Copper Extreme Point’s mammoth red polymer tip is designed to amplify the damage it can do. The tip’s broad base delivers massive impact energy, efficient energy transferral, and wide terminal expansion as it smashes into the bullet’s nose cavity. With over 1,300 ft lbs of energy at its disposal to shell out at 400 yards, the Copper Extreme Point is incredibly effective at felling hoofed things.

This round’s polymer tipped monolithic bullet also boasts heightened accuracy courtesy of its sharp meplat, streamlined profile, and boat tail. Winchester delivers consistent ballistics with their high quality primer and specially formulated propellant, as well as uninterrupted cycling with their glittering new brass case.

Your go-to 30-06 ammo for hunting everything from boar to elk is in stock and ready to ship out! Fiocchi’s American-made Field Dynamics ammunition represents that perfect balance of great value and great performance that every huntsman loves.

This cartridge’s bullet isn’t a fancy polymer tipped contraption, but it certainly knows how to get the job done. The 180 grain PSP possesses a streamlined overall profile, which in conjunction with this round’s 2,700 fps muzzle velocity presents a G1 BC of 0.452. A bullet that creates so little drag is really effective at retaining kinetic energy downrange. This round reaches 416 yards with 1,500 ft lbs of energy; 646 yards with 1,000 ft lbs of energy!

The PSP makes good use of so much power. Its bare lead tip enables it to commence terminal expansion immediately following impact, and its sturdy copper alloy jacket prevents extreme fragmentation that could make the wound channel too shallow to quickly anchor a quarry.

This nonmagnetic and non-corrosive ammo is loaded with freshly minted brass cases – certainly something you’ll want to reload yourself, if you’re the reloading type.
