7.62x25 Ammo
Used in the US primarily in TT pistols, Russian 7.62x25mm Tokarev ammunition is a fast-moving cartridge that delivers excellent accuracy for target shooting.
A typical 7.62 Tokarev load fires a light full metal jacket bullet in the 85-90 grain range at a high muzzle velocity of 1,400 to 1,700 feet per second. This unusually high velocity produces nice, flat trajectories without the heavy recoil of magnum calibers. While much of the ammo produced in this caliber is steel-cased, some manufacturers including Sellier & Bellot and Prvi Partizan make brass-cased variants suitable for reloading.
Historically, the 7.62 Tokarev is an upgrade of the 7.63x25mm Mauser and was used not only in the TT pistol but also the famous PPD, PPSH, and PPS series of submachine guns used by the Soviet military during World War II.
