    Go to bullet for hunting

Use this bullet in reloading for 15 years. It is excellent! Reload for 30-06, 308 Winchester, bolt actions and s&w mp 10. Delivers the energy in the animal whether deer or hog. The expanded bullets I've recovered have retained 60-80% of their weight. Groups well at the range and performs in the field. I may try other bullets but I rely on these!

The 22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire, or 22 WMR, has been around since 1959 and is a wonderful varmint and small game cartridge. Although this round fell out of popularity for a while, Hornady's release of the cartridge in their line of V-Max ammo brought it back with the increased speed, lethality, and accuracy.

Since 1949, Hornady has been dedicated to delivering high quality components and finished ammunition. The V-Max line is designed to deliver explosive expansion and fragmentation for efficient varmint hunting. These 22 WMR rounds feature a 30 grain projectile that leaves the barrel around 2200 feet per second. Those varmints won't stand a chance!

Quality control is good, uniform bullets and weights.

These require a fairly high Velocity to function as desired, once these velocities are achieved they function well. They are accurate enough for a hunting round. I wouldn't suggest these if you're looking to shoot in any type of competition. Grouping half to three quarter of an inch at 50 Yards.

I haven't done any real ballistics tests of these yet but the bullet weights are all extremely close and no deformation of any bullets in packaging or shipping, tips all in good shape.

Hornady's InterLock line of bullets feature exposed lead tips that give shooters controlled expansion. Each projectile in this box of 100 is .321" in diameter and weighs 170 grains. These bullets exhibit a raised ring inside the copper jacket that is embedded into the lead core. This ring keeps the jacket and core fused together so the bullet retains mass and displays deep penetration as it expands. These projectiles have a secant ogive profile which allows for a high ballistic coefficient while retaining the optimum bearing surface for stable flight. Hornady has earned a reputation for providing shooters and hunters with high quality, reliable products.

    Better than most!

These Amax bullets are excellent! They shoot better than anything else out of my AR10. Always sub MOA, better than Sierra, Berger or Nosler and I've tried them all, the rifle loves them and I don't use anything else

There’s a good rule of thumb to abide by when it comes to how much ammo you should have: However much you’ve got, get more. This case of 1,000 223 Rem rounds from Hornady’s Frontier ammo line will take care of that big time, and they’re great rounds to boot. With Lake City’s own brass, primers, and propellant they boast the same high quality as the ammo utilized by the U.S. Army, and their production has been overseen every step of the way by Hornady’s own quality assurance sticklers.

This round’s 55 grain projectile wears a full metal jacket, so it’ll make it from magazine to chamber smoothly and not leave behind a great deal of residue after having passed through the bore. Hornady’s decades of experience crafting fine bullets is evident in how concentric this one’s jacket and how uniform its core are. It’s resultant superior accuracy will do you every kind of service the next time you go to the range!

Hornady Super Shock Tip (SST) projectiles are a great choice for most North American game animals. Each bullet in this box of 100 measures .308" in diameter and weighs 150 grains. The SST line of projectiles are engineered to deliver massive shock on impact by expanding quickly and reliably. These bullets feature a polymer tip and a secant ogive profile to increase the ballistic coefficient and maintain higher velocities while in-flight. Each projectile also has an Interlock ring that fuses the jacket to the core throughout expansion so there is high weight retention.

    3030 ftx bullets

I loaded them with 35 grains of lever lution , they gained a lot more fps.Shot 5 inches higher than my old load of 28 .5 grs. of Acc. 2460 with a 170 gr speer hot core. very accurate out of a marlin micro grove . It was zeroed in at 50 yds. shot it at 100 and 200 meters, with vary impressive results. It basically turned the 3030 into a 300 savage.

160 gr. FTX bullets for 30-30 lever action rifles

I had purchased these a few months back in hopes they would improve the preformance of my marlin 30-30 after reading some reviews. I first loaded some test rounds in several different charge weights with Varget powder and bench fired at 100 yards..The results was terrible shot groups. I then purchased a pound of Hodgdon Leverevolution powder since it was designed for the FTX bullets and lever action rifles. I loaded some FTX bullets in the min. and max. powder charge with two more test loads in between those loads. The best 100 yard shot group was 3 in. with the max. charge weight. The other three test loads were in the 6in. and 7 in. shot group range. All the shot groups were very disappointing. I had also loaded some test rounds with Rem. 170 gr. soft point bullets made for 30-30s using the Leverevoltion powder. I loaded 5 rounds with the max. charge weight and those were 2 in. shot groups. I had loaded five more rounds with one grain less of the powder. Those grouped around 3 inches. The leverevoltion powder does well with conventional round nose bullets in lever action from my tests and I plan on ordering a box of Sierra 30-30 bullets in the 170 and 150 gr. weights to further test with this powder. Altough the 160 gr. FTX bullets might work well in some lever actions they were a disappointment for me.After asking about them on a reloading forum I found out it wasn't just my Marlin 30-30 that didn't do well with them. As far as using them in my .308 handloads the crimping groove sits too high because they were made for the shorter 30-30 shell. These bullets were made for the 30-30 not the normal 30 cal. rifle. I also read where the copper jacket was designed for 30-30 bullet velocities so there is a chance they could fail with the higher .308 velocities. If you own a lever action 30-30 and want to try some I would suggest only buying one box until you know how well they will perform.

Are you looking for a military grade solution for all of your target shooting, plinking, and training needs? Then this rugged 5.56x45 cartridge from Hornady’s Frontier line of ammunition is ready for action. It is loaded at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, and accordingly all of its components are thoroughly up to snuff. You can make great use of this round’s rugged brass casing at your reloading bench, provided you’ve the means to deal with a military primer crimp. That’s hardly a problem if you know how to go about it.

This cartridge sports a 55 grain projectile. The gilded metal jacket wrapped around its lead alloy core hardens it substantially, allowing it to prevent lead fouling and penetrate most common targets on impact. The bullet’s concentric jacket and extremely fast muzzle velocity give it a nice, flat trajectory, the sort you could depend on to hit varmint-sized targets if you so wished.

When they make their Frontier line of ammunition, Hornady utilizes state of the art loading techniques and the most exacting quality assurance protocol that they’ve got at their disposal. This isn’t just any Frontier ammo, though -- it is manufactured at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, and is thus totally mil spec from its high quality brass casing to its clean igniting and responsive Boxer primer. Lake City is able to produce ammo at staggering capacities without compromising quality, so this round is both cost-effective and just the kind of thing you need to make groupings that are tighter than bark on a tree.

This M193 round’s 55 grain projectile is Hornady’s contribution. As such it features all the reputable manufacturer’s trademarks: an intensely uniform lead alloy core, a hard and concentric jacket that penetrates easily and enables straight flight, and the consistent weight needed for consistent performance. With 1,000 of these rounds packed in a single box, it’d take one heck of a range session to run out of ammo.

This .264” diameter 140 grain bullet by Hornady will yield handloads with the precision usually afforded to surgical instruments, because it is an Extremely Low Drag Match. The ELD Match features its manufacturer’s revolutionary Heat Shield tip, a precisely formed spear of polymer which is totally immune to the aerodynamic heating it is subjected to at high velocities. As the result, this bullet’s meplat will always stay sharp and symmetrical so that you can group shots tighter than an investment banker’s lips while he’s on trial for money laundering.

The ELD Match further owes its gnat swatting accuracy to its secant ogive profile which greatly decreases its bearing surface, its virtually perfectly concentric AMP jacket that optimizes its rotational stability in flight, and the tapered base of its boat tail design. Hornady has even gone so far as to measure the ELD Match’s ballistic coefficient via Doppler radar to correct it to standard atmospheric conditions. So flat a trajectory, so much retained velocity downrange, and such superior resistance to wind drift will make your handloads the best ammo wherever you take them!

“Ten bullets through one hole” -- that’s the philosophy which over the course of the past seven decades has turned Hornady from a tiny little bullet maker into one of our country’s leading ammunition manufacturers. This 147 grain .264” diameter bullet exemplifies its Nebraskan creator’s credo perfectly, because it is an intensely accurate ELD Match.

The ELD Match’s Heat Shield tip is made of polymer that will not be misshapen by aerodynamic heating -- as the result, no muzzle velocity will spoil its meplat’s symmetry or pointedness. The ELD Match further offers its boat tail design, a tapered base which significantly hikes up its ballistic coefficient for a flat trajectory and improved downrange velocity. Its secant ogive profile lessens its bearing surface, and its jacket’s high concentricity means little could make it spin out of its path. This is the bullet you load when you’re planning to win a competition, or treat a vole to a mustache trim from a few hundred yards out.

XTP (eXtreme Terminal Performance) Magnum projectiles feature a strong copper jacket which can stand up to high velocities as well as a large hollow cavity with deeply cut segments which produce wide expansion at any velocity.

These 300 grain bullets also feature a toothed cannelure which acts as a crimping point to keep bullets from walking out during revolver shooting while preventing jacket separation in order to preserve the deep penetration needed for big game hunting. This box includes 50 projectiles.

When you choose Hornady bullets, you're choosing an American tradition of unparalleled craftsmanship and unrivaled technological innovation. Continue the trend by completing your order with Widener's vast selection of other high grade components such as magnum handgun powder and .454 Casull primers.

Give your handload the precision performance it needs to demonstrate your all-around proficiency with Hornady’s ELD-X projectile!

This .308” diameter bullet boasts an exceptionally high ballistic coefficient. Its Heat Shield tip will keep its meplat keen and evenly shaped no matter the velocity it achieves, as the polymer it is made from is immune to the effects of aerodynamic heating. Its accuracy is additionally bolstered by its low drag secant ogive profile, tapered base, and nearly perfectly concentric AMP jacket. The ELD-X’s flat trajectory will enable you to tag a distant buck like it’s standing right next to you.

The ELD-X is an all-distance hunting solution. At low velocity impact its tip reliably initiates wide expansion that is made all the more devastating with up to 90 percent weight retention. Even at closer distances the bullet’s InterLock ring ensures its jacket and core stay together to provide some mushrooming accompanied by the retention of as little as half of its weight. It’s perfect for hunting when you can’t reliably predict how your quarry is going to behave, which is practically always.

This .257” diameter (25 caliber) ELD-X (Extremely Low Drag - eXpanding) bullet by Hornady combines match grade accuracy with exceptional terminal performance. The bullet largely owes its great ballistic coefficient to its patented Heat Shield tip, which is immune to aerodynamic heating so that it can maintain its pointed profile under any circumstances. Its stellar accuracy is also the result of its highly concentric AMP jacket, secant ogive profile, and boat tail design.

This bullet is designed to deliver massive takedown power at virtually any velocity. At distances less than 400 yards its high InterLock ring and thick jacket shank work in conjunction to maintain up to 60 percent weight retention. At greater distances the bullet’s Heat Shield tip gets driven deep into its core to initiate reliable expansion along with up to 90 percent weight retention. You’re not handloading your own ammo to create an inferior product -- trust in the Nebraskan company that has been producing high quality projectiles since the day of their foundation in 1949.
