6.5 Grendel Ammo
A common alternative chambering for AR-15 rifles, 6.5mm Grendel sits between the 5.56 and 7.62 NATO calibers in power. It was introduced by Alexander Arms in 2004 and is descended from the .220 Russian, in turn a derivative of the Soviet 7.62x39mm used in the AK-47.
Unlike its Russian cousins, however, 6.5mm Grendel ammunition and the caliber as a whole was designed from the ground up to compete with the 7.62 NATO at longer ranges; it fires a medium weight 120-130 grain bullet at a relatively high muzzle velocity in the 2,700 feet per second range. The cartridge's distinctive shape combines a high capacity case with a streamlined bullet significantly lower in caliber than the 7.62 NATO. Overall, the bullet retains energy extremely well even at 800 or 1,000 meters.
While it was originally designed for military and law-enforcement use, the 6.5mm Grendel also adapts well to hunting deer and other game. Its performance is comparable to the .243 or .30-30 Winchester. 6.5mm Grendel ammunition is produced for hunting, defense, and target shooting by several manufacturers including Hornady, Wolf, Prvi Partizan, and Federal - all of which we regularly carry in-stock here at Widener's and offer for sale at competitive prices.

But that’s none of your concern. You’re a Widener’s customer, which is why you get immediate access to the good stuff by Prvi Partizan.
That’s right – Prvi Partizan, the Serbian manufacturer known across the world for the consistently high quality of their ammunition. (Idahoan firearm manufacturer Nemo Arms only imported and boxed this ammo.) Each round in this box of 20 is armed with a 120 grain full metal jacket boat tail projectile: non-expanding, nonmagnetic, and due to exit a 24” barrel at a velocity of approximately 2,674 fps.
